ABOUT ME

 

Ryan Dye is a proud Virginia Tech Hokie from Southwest Virginia.

​

Growing up in a small coal town in the mountains of Virginia, Ryan was first drawn to journalism from watching sports on his local news station and listening to his high school football team's broadcasts. 

​

After several years of changing majors, Ryan finally heard the calling of multimedia journalism as a sophomore at Virginia Tech. From that moment on, it's been full steam ahead. 

​

Ryan has a diverse background in television, radio and print journalism that allows him to draw from multiple pools when working on a project. With internships at WVVA, ESPN Blacksburg, the Salem Red Sox and The Key Play, Ryan has seen and done more than most in both the sports and news worlds.

​

When he's not cheering on his Hokies or Blue Tornado, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and step-son, playing music and video games.
